Wishbone chair was first mentioned in an article about Scandinavian furniture, but now I would like to show you which interiors it's used in. It's one of the most popular Scandinavian chairs and to look at how a chair looks in an interior will be, in my opinion, much more interesting than to look at the photos of a single chair.
Designer: Hans J. Wegner Year: 1949 Manufacturer: Carl Hansen & Son Materials: [Back / Legs] Hardwood; [Seat] Paper Cord
Hans Wegner designed the Wegner CH24 Wishbone Chair in 1949 for Carl Hansen & Son. The Wegner CH24, or “Y-Chair”, was the first chair that Hans Wegner created for Danish manufacturer Carl Hansen & Son.
The craftsmen at Carl Hansen & Son have been producing the Wegner Wishbone Chair continuously since 1950. These skilled artisans carry out more than 100 steps by hand, using only renewable, sustainable hardwoods. They painstakingly hand-weave the seat from nearly 400 feet of highly durable paper cord.
The Wegner CH24 Wishbone Chair features an ergonomic design that allows you to sit with your back straight and move unhindered within the chair. Its lightweight, compact design makes it ideal for any space, large or small. The graceful curved legs and semicircular top rail give the Wegner Wishbone Chair a timeless style that will last for generations.
The Wegner Wishbone Chair is available in myriad colors, with various finishes. Wishbone Chairs feature either a white or black paper cord seat. Shop this wide selection of the Hans Wegner Wishbone Chair.
