Marble in an interior is mostly widespread facing natural stone. From the ancient times it was used for mansions, temples and sculptures. Floor, walls, fireplaces and stairs are decorated by marble, worktops, windowsills, columns and other interior elements are made of marble.
Marble (Latin marmor, from Greek – marmara ‘shiny stone’) – it is a metamorphic rock that formed from a limestone or a dolomite when high temperature and pressure were elevating when in the underground one rock turns to another one. Cores characteristic to this kind of rock formed from various impurities, most usually clay, sand or iron oxide.
This stone is sensitive to humidity, scratching and environmental impact. One should pay attention to it while planning where to use this stone. While using it in the interior it is advisable to impregnate marble protecting from harmful environmental effects this way.
It is thought that marble fits only in a classical interior, however, when other details are respectfully combined, it can perfectly be used in modern and Scandinavian interior. It is true that nobody will argue that this stone looks rather luxurious, the colors white or light grey optically provide lightness and those features can be necessary in any style interior.
