Fashion trends = interior trends?

I've noticed a strange (or maybe natural) thing. Nowadays trendy elements in a fashion world fits interior design trends. Can these two seperate worlds be conected and similar to each other? Maybe it's just a coincidence?

I upload some biggest similarities for my eye. I wonder which is the first - clothes or interior? Here's top 5 tendencies: patterns; fur; gold and metal; laces and recycled clothes/things. Some of them fit better in a fashion world, the others in interior design but there are definitely some similarities!
