In the last several years trays became really popular. They’re used everywhere where there’s some space – in a living room on the table or on a chest of drawer, in a bedroom on the night table, in a kitchen on a worktop or a table, in a bathroom on a cabinet and in a lot of other places.
I’m not surprised about such their popularity. That’s a rather convenient way to neatly group interior details and accessories. For the tray decoration the same rules as for open shelf decoration are valid. I was writing about that earlier. It’s also easy to move a tray to another place which is very convenient when cleaning or when you want to renew.

There’s a great variety of trays right now, therefore, you only need to choose the appropriate one. Pay attention to the following things:
Material and design. If your home is of Scandinavian style a metal tray won’t fit there – you’d rather choose a wooden one.

A shape and dimensions. Round trays as well as round tables take more space, therefore, before buying a tray you should necessarily measure a surface which you want to build it on. It’d be perfect if there was the space left from all the sides, i.e. the tray wouldn’t be of the same width and length as the surface.

Ideas what can be hold on the tray:
Books;
Candles and candlesticks;
Different statues and decorative objects;
Perfume bottles;
Boxes;
Cosmetics in nice bowls;
Towels;
Tea, coffee bowls, sugar bowl, etc..;
Seasoning vases;
Oils and other food products (if very fine, they should be put into another bowl, too);
